Band Feature: Assassins

If you’re looking for a solid metalcore sound and you like acts such as We Came As Romans and August Burns Red, then look no further. Assassins from Detroit, Michigan are on the rise and don’t plan on coming down any time soon.

Formed in 2009 by vocalist Todd Jansen, the band stands behind creating an identity for yourself and basically being your own boss. Steven, Max, and the two newest members, Dennis and Anthony make the group complete. Their live performance is ruthless and they leave no part of the stage untouched.

After some hard work and studio time, Assassins finally released their EP, ‘The Awakening’, back in July of this year. This six song masterpiece starts off with a 1:13 introduction and immediately breaks into “The Promise of 1931″, delivering strong vocals and consistent guitar to follow through. Available on iTunes for only $4.99, it’s definitely worth it.

October is set to be a good month for the band as they gear up to head out on the road with Ice Nine Kills and Wolves At The Gate for nine dates from New York to Florida. Make sure to check out their Facebook page for more details and specific dates as well as venue and city information.
