Band Feature: Blonds
Blonds is a two piece indie pop band from West Palm Beach FL. They have bravely devoted themselves to an eclectic and electro-operatic style that is striking similar to the sounds of bands such as Beach House.
Lead vocalist Cari Rae seems to have produced her lyrics from an impulsive, yearning, and spiritually desolate emotional state, which adds an incredible depth to the feel of their music. Most of their tracks are of a romantically slow tempo, and are decorated by an array of synths, strings, and clever filters.
While Blonds could be considered fairly new to the industry, they have been successfully ambitious in their amount of releases. In November of 2011, they came out with an EP entitled ‘Dark Roots’, which landed them a spot in some major magazines such as Rolling Stone, Paste Magazine, and more. After two singles, and not even a year later, they presented their first full length album, which was appropriately named ‘The Bad Ones’. Their full length received an enthusiastic reaction from fans and critics alike
So, if you’re even moderately a fan of indie bands such as Beach House or Florence and the Machine, I highly recommend that you check these guys out!
