Band Feature: Friendly Fires
From the city of St. Albans, a band by the name of Friendly Fires emerges, bringing you a sound that is described as ‘indie-dance’. The trio released their first album in 2008 which reached #21 on the UK album charts and was certified double gold in the UK. The success of their self-titled album helped them to build a name for themselves.
Their second album, ‘Pala’, named after the island in Aldous Huxley’s 1962 novel Island, had even better reviews. The album reached #6 on the UK album charts, #19 on the Australian album charts, as well as #3 on the US Heatseekers album charts.
The band announced recently that they will be putting out an album titled ‘Late Night Tales’, which features a selection of the band’s favorite late night tracks, which includes: SBTRKT, Bibio, Stereolab, and many more. The album will also contain Friendly Fires’ cover of ‘Why Don’t You Answer’ by Eberhand and Sting. The album will be released on Nov. 5th, 2012.
