Artist Profile: Chloe Foy
Coming from Manchester, singer/songwriter Chloe Foy delivers beautiful folk music that just breathes with purity. She’s able to melt beautiful poetry and minimalist instrumentals into a wondrous sound with her clear, pleasing voice. The sometimes dark qualities to Foy’s lyrics are enchanting in a way that is so perfect for a rainy day. When she harmonizes with herself on recordings, Foy’s voice becomes a haunting masterpiece.
It’s obvious that Chloe Foy has great control over her voice, and it pays off in a big way. Even when she’s singing alone with an acoustic guitar, her voice shines with melodies that complement her vocal tones. The addition of embellishments from violins and electric guitars only enhance the sound Foy is able to produce on her own. Her airiness allows for her music to never be too heavy, despite the weighty words.
Chloe Foy lists her influences as artists like Joni Mitchell, Turin Brakes, and Bon Iver. Her distinct lyrical qualities and vocal subtleties allow for her to be compared to the acts like First Aid Kit, Laura Gibson, and Daughter. Last year, Foy released a debut acoustic EP entitled ‘I’ve Got A Feeling,’ which is available for purchase on iTunes. She is currently in the studio working on writing a recording her debut album, set to be released early next yet.
Chloe Foy is touring throughout the UK through the month of November, so be sure to check her out! For more information on dates, tickets, music, and other related information, be sure to check out Chloe Foy’s Facebook, her Official Website, and follow her on Twitter.
