Hailing from Kansas City, The Slowdown is a six piece band of brothers and friends. They have recently recorded their debut album entitled ‘A’ at Earth Analog studios near Champaign, Illinois. Their sound can be described as alternative and experimental indie rock which cleverly combines sounds from the past and future.

This talented sextet is anything but strangers to the music business. Front man Sam Hoskins and keyboard Joe Hoskins started out as members of the rock pop band Elevator Division and guitarist Josh Johnson and bassist Jeremy Wilson have worked behind the scenes of several Kansas City concert venues. Along with drummer Drew Little and guitarist Austin Turney they form The Slowdown.

The Slowdown released a video for their first single “A Mirror, A Torch” off their forthcoming album. Front man Sam Hoskins’ raspy voice compliments the bluesy guitar riffs and they experiment with a futuristic sounding keyboard solo. The second single “To Wonder” was premiered on AltPress.com and gained attention from various music magazines.

‘A’ is set to be released on the 12th of December 2012 so be sure to keep up to date with The Slowdown on Facebook and Twitter.
